🔫 How to Initiate Hostile RP
Conflict is a natural part of survival — but it has to be earned.
At DZXRP, all hostile actions must be initiated with clear, immersive roleplay. This means giving your target a chance to respond, react, or comply. It’s about storytelling — not cheap kills.
🧠 What Counts as Hostile RP?
Hostile RP includes any action where you:
- Threaten or aim a weapon at someone
- Attempt robbery or forceful searches
- Kidnap, interrogate, or imprison another player
- Attack or kill another survivor (with or without success)
🗣️ Step-by-Step Guide to Initiating Hostile RP
1. Approach In Character
Make sure you’re fully IC before any interaction.
Avoid memes, OOC chatter, or over-the-top villainy.
Example:
“Whoa whoa, hands where I can see them. You’ve got three seconds to drop that bag.”
2. Make Your Intent Clear
State what you want. This can be verbal or visual (e.g. aiming a weapon).
The other player must understand you are threatening them — not just talking tough.
✅ Acceptable:
“I’m taking your radio. Stay calm and you’ll be fine.”
[Draws weapon, blocks path]❌ Not acceptable:
Ambushing without warning, or yelling random threats with no action
3. Give Them a Chance to Respond
You must give reasonable time for the other player to:
- Comply
- Negotiate
- Try to escape
- Call for help
This is where story happens — don’t rush it.
4. Respect Their Roleplay Choices
If someone tries to run, yells for backup, or draws a weapon, that’s their choice.
Don’t punish creativity. Respond, don’t react.
Hostile RP should be dynamic, not scripted.
5. Aftermath Matters
Once it’s over:
- Offer medical RP, or leave IC consequences
- Don’t rush off unrealistically
- Let fear, trauma, or grudges develop naturally
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
| Mistake | Why It’s a Problem |
|---|---|
| “Hands up” with no context | Too vague — needs threat or reasoning |
| Shooting immediately after yelling | Not enough time to react — violates KOS rules |
| Silent robberies | Players must hear or see clear hostile RP |
| OOC threats or jokes mid-conflict | Breaks immersion, ruins tension |
| Over-escalation | Conflict should feel like a scene, not a fragfest |
🎭 Interaction First, Action Second
Think of conflict as a scene, not a victory.
Your goal is to create tension, drama, fear, or revenge — not just loot or elimination.
🧠 Need Support?
Staff can help mediate or assist with hostile scenes. Use the helpdesk if:
- You’re unsure what’s allowed
- A scene didn’t feel fair
- You want help planning a major event
❗ What About KoS Zones?
DZXRP does allow Kill on Sight (KoS) — but only in specific red zones.
These zones are marked on the server map shared in Discord and represent lawless or high-risk areas. They may expand or shrink weekly depending on in-game events or faction activity.
Outside of these zones, KOS is strictly forbidden.
If you engage in hostile RP outside of a red zone, you must:
- Initiate with clear roleplay
- Give the other player time to respond
- Follow all immersion and fairness expectations
Inside a red zone?
Proceed with caution — you’re fair game, and so is everyone else.
💡 Always check the latest version of the map in Discord before assuming an area is lawless.
Conflict is part of survival. Make it count. Make it real.
