📻 Radio & Communication Protocol
Staying connected is just as important as staying alive.
DZXRP blends in-game radios, Discord channels, and immersive etiquette to create a believable post-collapse communication network. This guide explains how to use your voice and text channels to simulate radio realism across Livonia.
🔊 In-Game Radios (Voice)
All handheld and field radios in-game should be used on valid in-game frequencies (e.g. 102.5, 87.8). These simulate your real-time radio transmissions to nearby survivors.
✅ Do:
- Speak clearly, stay IC, and keep it brief like real radio chatter.
- Use factional or personal frequencies for private group comms.
- Change frequencies regularly if you’re concerned about eavesdropping.
❌ Don’t:
- Use voice radio as a casual chat tool.
- Broadcast meme content or OOC chatter.
- Leave a radio on without RP context.
🖋️ ICOM Text (Discord)
For longer-range or asynchronous communication, we simulate text-based radio transmissions using Discord.
These include:
- DMs between players (private comms)
- Faction or trade channels (e.g. scheduling, deals, alerts)
This represents your survivor typing into a handheld ICOM device — similar to a military-grade radio terminal with text capability.
Example:
“122.45 / This is Merc, broadcasting from Kopa. Got .308 and rations for trade — reply with your freq.”
📻 UNICOM – 122.80 MHz
UNICOM is the open frequency of the DZXRP world.
It exists as a public Discord channel where any survivor can:
- Broadcast open messages anonymously
- Request contact with others
- Ask, “What frequency can I reach you on?”
Think of it as a CB radio lobby, used to make first contact or request assistance.
It’s monitored by traders, civilians, and factions alike.
💡 Use UNICOM before sending a DM — it keeps the world feeling connected.
📢 Radio Roleplay Tips
| Do This | Not This |
|---|---|
| “122.80 / Anyone hearing this near Gliniska?” | “Hey, you on bro?” |
| Use military or civilian RP tone | Spam, jokes, or emojis |
| Signal location or intent | Break character in text |
| Coordinate events or trade | Use Discord as a group chat |
🚫 Radio Interference & Dead Zones
To simulate realism:
- Some areas may have limited reception (e.g. valleys, underground)
- Staff may occasionally introduce static, interference, or hijacking as part of events
Use this to your advantage in roleplay — not everything needs to go through clearly.

If you’re unsure how to communicate properly, just ask in the helpdesk.
Our team can advise or even support IC radio events.
Survivors don’t just talk — they signal. Make every message count.
