💀 Understanding Lifespan & Death on DZXRP
Survival is more than just staying alive — it’s about how your character changes, breaks, or endures over time.
DZXRP uses a point-based Lifespan System that reflects accumulated risk and trauma. It rewards immersive storytelling and helps ensure consequences feel earned — not arbitrary.
🧠 How the Lifespan System Works
Every character begins with 0 points.
As you die or encounter lethal situations, you accumulate Lifespan Points. These reflect your character’s physical and psychological toll — not just death itself.
| Situation | Points Added |
|---|---|
| PvE death (Infected, fall, exposure) | +0.5 points |
| PvP death (Combat with another player) | +1 point |
| Suicide (non-RP) | +2 points |
🩸 Lifespan Thresholds
| Points | Status | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| 3 Points | Minor Injury | Discord role given. Your character begins to show signs of lasting trauma or harm. |
| 4 Points | Severely Injured | Discord role given. Major effects must be roleplayed — limited mobility, trauma, or visible injuries. |
| 5 Points | Dying | Discord role given. Character is living on borrowed time. Their arc should begin preparing for conclusion. |
| 6 Points | Final Death Required | Your character must be permanently retired. Server access restricted until death is logged in a character journal. |
🔄 When Does the Counter Reset?
Your character’s point total never resets.
Once a new character is created (after 6 points), they begin again at 0.
📝 Journal Logging at 6 Points
At 6 points, you must:
- Write a final entry in your Character Journal
- Include the cause of death or method of disappearance
- Notify staff via helpdesk or designated channel
Only then will access be restored for your next character.
🔁 Retiring Early?
You can always choose to retire a character before 6 points if the story suits it. Some disappear. Some flee. Some fall off the map.
Letting go early can be just as powerful as holding on.
❓ Need Help?
Ask staff via helpdesk if you need support:
- Planning your character’s ending
- Transitioning to a new persona
- Updating your journal
Your character’s demise should mean something. Let it leave a mark.
