World Sleep Day: What it Means to be ‘Sleeping’ in DayZ and the DZXRP

What is World Sleep Day?

World Sleep Day is an annual global event that aims to raise awareness about the importance of getting a good night’s sleep. It is celebrated on the Friday before Spring Equinox every year, and people from all around the world contribute to this day through various activities like seminars, workshops, and social media campaigns. The focus of World Sleep Day is to promote healthy and adequate sleep habits for individuals of all ages but in the DZXRP, we use ‘sleep’ in other extremely important ways while we do our thing on DayZ.

The Importance of Sleep for Your Health

Getting sleep is crucial for your survivability in the DZXRP. Should you find yourself wandering the vast landscapes of Chernarus and need to depart the DayZ world. DO NOT whatever you do, remain static aimlessly staring into the abyss, or as it is affectionately known, being AFK.

Not only can little Timmy two tap come along and potentially do unspeakable things to you, but the local wildlife may be less playful. While the ‘time-out’ emoji is essentially a good tool for those brief moments, it’s highly recommended that you take a snooze if you need to step away.

Of course, providing nothing ‘physically; gets you, there’s mother nature. The flu and hypothermia can come from being out in the elements for too long, and we know the local weather isn’t exactly great.

Common Disorders Treatable with Sleep

Yes us console players experience a somewhat broken fragment of something that could be great, but we can’t get everything. From time to time you may hear survivors talk about strange headaches. What are these headaches you ask? Lag. Yes, as riveting as that.

Any situation whereby you’re suffering a very laggy headache or your vehicle is bouncing around uncontrollably, take a nap.

Although not recommended as it is a puny move, taking oneself to the land of nod while in a predicament with some wolves, bears or the infected can help back them off for when you waken again.

BE WARNED however, should you take a beauty nap while in the midst of a firefight to escape a potential injury, this is considered a combat log and should be avoided at all costs.
