The Deer Isle Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that an active welfare and missing persons inquiry is underway concerning three survivors whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
Authorities are seeking information regarding:
- Green Bauman
- James Laswell
- Lincoln Clay
According to officials, investigators are working to establish the current welfare and location of all three individuals after concerns were raised following an extended absence from regular community activity.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has stressed that the inquiry is being treated as a welfare matter. No allegations of criminal wrongdoing have been made and investigators are simply seeking to determine whether the individuals are safe and accounted for.
Across Deer Isle, it is not uncommon for survivors to spend extended periods travelling remote routes, hunting, scavenging, or pursuing opportunities far from established settlements. However, when familiar faces disappear from trade routes, radio networks, and community hubs for prolonged periods, concern naturally follows.
The Sheriff’s Office is therefore asking any survivor who may have recently encountered Green Bauman, James Laswell, or Lincoln Clay to come forward.
Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have:
- Spoken with any of the three individuals recently.
- Travelled alongside them.
- Conducted trade or business with them.
- Shared accommodation or camp facilities with them.
- Observed them in settlements, outposts, airfields, roadside camps, or other locations across Deer Isle.
Even seemingly minor information may assist investigators in establishing a timeline and determining the current welfare of those involved.
As Deer Isle continues its slow reconstruction, communities remain heavily reliant on cooperation, communication, and mutual support. Authorities are hopeful that members of the wider survivor network may hold information capable of helping locate the missing individuals or confirm their safety.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Deer Isle Sheriff’s Office via UNICOM frequency 122.80 or by speaking directly with known Sheriff’s Deputies operating throughout the region.
The inquiry remains active.
