Creating Your Character
Overview:
Your character is at the heart of your DZXRP experience. Crafting a unique and lore-compliant backstory adds depth to our world and helps you connect with the community. Follow this guide to create a character that aligns with DZXRP’s setting and rules.
Character Creation Steps
- Choose a Name
- Select a first and last name for your character that is original, lore-friendly, and fitting for the world of DZXRP.
- Define Your Background
- Write a backstory (minimum 200 words) that explains who your character is, where they come from, and what motivates them. This can include:
- Personal History: Brief details on your character’s past—what kind of life they led before the events in DZXRP.
- Skills and Strengths: Describe any special skills or abilities your character possesses (e.g., survival skills, technical knowledge) that could impact their journey.
- Personality Traits: Mention characteristics or quirks that make your character unique.
- Write a backstory (minimum 200 words) that explains who your character is, where they come from, and what motivates them. This can include:
- Stay Lore-Compliant
- Ensure your backstory aligns with DZXRP’s lore, set in the challenging environment of Livonia. Avoid elements that don’t fit the world, like modern technology or supernatural powers.
- Describe Your Goals and Motivations
- Give your character clear motivations—what are they trying to achieve? This can add depth to roleplay interactions and help guide your character’s decisions.
- Keep it Open to Growth
- Your character’s story doesn’t need to be fully defined from the start. Leave room for growth and changes that may come from in-game experiences and interactions with others.
Tips for Writing Your Backstory
- Be Original: Stand out by creating a character that’s uniquely yours.
- Stay True to the Setting: DZXRP is a survival-based roleplay environment. Make sure your character’s skills and history reflect this world.
- Think Long-Term: Consider where you want your character’s story to go and how they might evolve over time.
Examples of Character Ideas
- The Reluctant Survivor: A former city dweller with limited survival skills, thrust into a harsh world they’re trying to navigate.
- The Veteran: A character with military experience who brings leadership skills but also struggles with past traumas.
- The Wanderer: A solitary traveler with survival skills, but little desire to connect with others, slowly finding community in DZXRP.
Getting Approved
Once you’ve written your character backstory, submit it as part of your registration on Discord. A moderator will review it to ensure it aligns with our guidelines and the DZXRP lore. If adjustments are needed, they’ll provide feedback to help refine your character.
